I love the holiday season, but this December has been an exceptionally exhausting month! With everything from Christmas celebrations to visits to the Accidents & Emergency clinic crammed into a time of year that always passes far too quickly anyway, the idea of buying gifts, baking holiday goodies and even getting vegetables on our plates at dinner has been a little overwhelming this week.
So, as my little (very sick) angel is finally napping for the first time in days, rather than kicking into high gear, I find myself doing nothing other than…sipping coffee and smiling at sweet pictures of her enjoying her first “real” Christmas season. (Sorry fam, Christmas presents are going to be a little on the fly this year…)
Here’s a glimpse of how E has been counting down to Christmas:
E’s first Advent Calendar (love this calendar idea for apartment living – easy to make…with no printer and limited time I made a very dumbed down version, but E loves it just the same!…decorative and cheap, so I won’t feel bad tossing them at the end of the season…yay for not storing Christmas decorations!) and our german tradition, St. Nikolaustag:
Attending Christmas festivals and seeing city lights:
Holiday brunch and cookie baking with girlfriends – our London lives simply would not be as wonderful without these ladies!!
And my favorite new tradition with E…pre-dinner Christmas carol dance parties!
Pam
Oh Carrie … you are such a wonderful mom! Tears of joy to watch her float and dance around the apartment. Thanks for sharing!!! Hope you all are well.
